About Run for the Ring

"A benefit to help Aggies participate in one of Texas A&M's most profound traditions - the Aggie Ring."

Each year, Traditions Council teams up with The Association of Former Students to put on a 5K run through campus known as Run for the Ring. This year Run for the Ring is in its 8th year and will be held on March 7, 2009 in Spence Park.

What makes Run for the Ring such a popular event is all participants who finish the race are eligible to win a certificate for a free Aggie Ring, or a diamond for their ring they may already have. This year we will be awarding two Aggie Ring certificates - one male and one female. Most importantly, we will be raising money for a scholarship endowment fund that will be awarded to an Aggie who can't afford their Aggie Ring. Our goal this year is to raise enough money to set up this scholarship endowment that would have the capability to award one male and one female ring to students in need each ring day for years to come. And, by participating in Run for the Ring 2009, you help us do just that.
